Following a successful replacement of the brake pads. Although before installing the new ones, the hydraulics were bled while the old pads were still in place. Now, with the new pads, the brake lever travel is significantly reduced, making it feel somewhat awkward. Likely, the braking force is now very strong. However, the brakes function effectively.
